Ssamzigil

Ssamzigil is perhaps the most famous landmark in Insadong. This 'spiraling' shopping mall is unique because you can walk from the first floor to the top floor along a continuous sloped pathway, mimicking a stroll through a street. It was established to support local artisans and small craft businesses.

The mall is packed with over 70 shops selling handmade accessories, traditional crafts with a modern twist, and personalized souvenirs. The rooftop courtyard offers a quirky atmosphere with its 'Poop Cafe' and stalls selling the famous Ddong-bang (poop-shaped bread).
